Queen Camilla Takes a Break Due to Chest Infection
London, United KingdomWed Nov 06 2024
Queen Camilla has put her public duties on hold, following medical advice. The 77-year-old has a chest infection and needs some rest, Buckingham Palace said. This comes after a challenging year for the royal family, with both King Charles III and Princess Kate battling cancer.
The queen is currently at home, missing a remembrance event planned for Thursday. However, she's hoping to bounce back in time for the Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph in London. Her doctor advised a short break to recover properly.

Even amidst all this, Queen Camilla has been a pillar of support. When King Charles and Princess Kate were unwell, she stepped up, handling many royal duties. Her dedication to raising awareness about domestic abuse was also highlighted in a recent ITV documentary.
Her efforts to end domestic abuse reflect her long-term commitment. She believes that while progress has been made, there's still a long way to go. Coercive control, she says, is one of the most frightening aspects of domestic abuse.
