Rainy Relief Arrives in St. Cloud

St. Cloud, MN, USA,Tue Nov 19 2024
St. Cloud residents woke up to some much-needed rain on Monday evening. The National Weather Service reported that the city broke a rainfall record with a total of 1. 13 inches at the St. Cloud Regional Airport by midnight. This wasn't the end of it, as more rain continued to fall after midnight. The old record for the date was set in 2015 at 0. 98 inches. So far this month, St. Cloud has received 1. 57 inches of rain, which is 0. 66 inches above the normal amount. Since September 1st, the city has seen 3. 08 inches of rain, still 3. 45 inches below the usual fall season average. However, this recent rainfall helped St. Cloud drop out of the top 10 driest falls on record. Rainfall is expected to stop by Tuesday morning as it moves further north. The weather will turn windy and cold, with westerly winds bringing in colder air. Late Tuesday night, light snow will start in western Minnesota and spread eastward by Wednesday. While most areas will only see minor snow accumulations, a few inches are possible in the western parts of the state. The snowfall is expected to end Wednesday night, followed by cool and dry weather.

Are the weather patterns intentionally being altered to distract from other ongoing issues?
Will the snow start on Tuesday night because it wants to make up for the missed winter?
Could the sudden change in weather be a sign of an impending climate change shift?
