It looks like trouble is piling up for Sean "Diddy" Combs. He's already facing serious charges related to sex trafficking, and now, prosecutors hint that more charges could be on the way. In a recent court hearing, an assistant U. S. attorney said they're still investigating and might add new charges. This comes as Combs is already locked up and waiting for his trial to start in May. Combs was arrested last September and is accused of forcing people, both men and women, into sexual encounters without their consent. Some of these encounters allegedly involved drugs and violence. The government claims that Combs and his team threatened and drugged the victims, and even barred them from leaving. Combs has denied all these charges. His lawyers have been fighting hard to defend him, but it's been tough. He's been denied bail three times, including an offer to put up a $50 million bond. They're also trying to show that the government's case is flawed because of leaked footage that showed Combs assaulting his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. Ventura's lawsuit against Combs for rape and abuse brought a lot of attention to the case. Combs settled with her for around $30 million. The government says they haven't leaked any information, but Combs' lawyers disagree. They also objected to prosecutors getting defense paperwork from a search of his storage locker. The judge has ordered some of the seized papers destroyed and told jail officials not to share Combs' attorney visit forms with the government. There are also disputes about Combs' access to a laptop with case materials. In other news, charges against Combs' associate Brendan Paul were dropped. Paul was placed in a drug treatment program and has completed it. Combs is still dealing with lots of civil suits, many filed by lawyer Tony Buzbee. Another rapper, Jay-Z, is also involved in a lawsuit accusing him of raping a minor. Jay-Z has denied the allegations.
