Rapper Lil Durk Faces Murder-for-Hire Charges: What Happened?

Rapper Lil Durk, whose real name is Durk Banks, was recently arrested in Florida. He is accused of planning a murder-for-hire plot against another rapper, Tyquian Bowman, known as Quando Rondo. This isn't just a story about celebrities; it's about the darker side of rivalries and the blurred lines between music groups and gangs. Banks is said to have ordered the hit after an associate of Bowman killed a friend of Banks' in 2020. This friend, Dayvon Bennett, performed as King Von and was part of Banks' music group, Only The Family (OTF). The FBI claims Banks put a reward on Bowman's head.In 2022, an OTF member learned Bowman was staying in Los Angeles. Five men flew to San Diego to carry out the plan. Banks joined them later, using his iCloud account to communicate without using his own name. The hit team used disguises and fake plates to track Bowman. They ended up at a gas station near the Beverly Center mall. Bowman's cousin was killed, but Bowman survived. The team then flew back to Chicago. The FBI arrested the alleged shooters and learned Banks was trying to leave the country. He is now jailed without bail.
