Red Bull's Big Sponsorship Loss: What's Next?

SingaporeThu Jan 02 2025
Red Bull just lost a big chunk of cash. Bybit, a Singapore-based cryptocurrency exchange, was a major sponsor for Red Bull's F1 team. They had a three-year deal worth $150 million. But that's over now, and Red Bull's website has already taken down Bybit's name from their partners list. No renewal, huh? Red Bull and Bybit sealed the deal in 2022, aiming to boost fan engagement with digital assets and fan tokens. But things changed quickly. Crypto exchanges came under scrutiny, and Red Bull seems to have lost trust in Bybit. This isn't the only change happening at Red Bull. Driver Sergio Perez is out, replaced by Liam Lawson. Team boss Adrian Newey is joining Aston Martin, and Jonathan Wheatley is off to Audi. But Red Bull is optimistic about 2025. Why? More time in the wind tunnel and CFD simulations could help them improve their 2024 struggles and develop the RB21 car. Verstappen, the double world champ, is also hopeful. He sees the bright side of missing out on the constructor's title – more wind tunnel time. “We have, I guess, a positive, " he said. Get ready for a revamped Red Bull in 2025. They're expecting strong performances and hoping to bounce back from the challenges of 2024.
