Rest, Readiness and Gender in the Jordanian Military
Middle EastSun Feb 02 2025
The Jordanian military is known for its toughness and high standards. When recruits are stressed and pushing their limits, sleep is one thing that often suffers. So achieving and observing the good sleep habits among recruits is vital to maximum performance and training results.
One thing markers of sleep health among military recruits is how long they sleep and the quality of that sleep. Two other major considerations are the things that affect sleep and how the military recruits can improve their sleep health. And while there have been countless studies about how soldiers sleep, there have not been many centered on women recruits or those in the Middle East.
The study took a group of male and female Jordanian military recruits and dug deep into their sleep quality, how long they slumber, and their sleep habits. They also looked into what factors affect their sleep quality.
So, what did they find? Well, the research showed that sleep quality can have an impact on performance and how the recruits deal with their training. The study also confirmed the importance of looking into the things that affect sleep quality. This becomes even more important when we see the gap in research on how female soldiers sleep and what may impact their sleep quality.
The information gathered from the research will help military leaders create programs to boost the sleep quality and duration of their recruits. Focus on the overall health of the recruits will also need to be addressed and improved. An effective way to improve the lives of the recruits is an intervention into the sleep habits of the recruits, this means providing a healthier environment to help sleep quality of these individuals. Wouldn't it be great if more people could get better sleep and feel more alert during the day?
The important things they share is sleep hygiene. This means taking care of your sleep environment, like keeping your room cool and dark. It also means having a bedtime routine and avoiding screens before bed. The report should be a wake-up call for everyone to pay more attention to their sleep and health.
Research shows the importance of quality sleep. It is clear that understanding how recruits sleep and what we can do to improve their overall sleep health is the key to better overall health. Awareness plays a huge role in sleep health, so keeping an eye on these problems and finding solutions can help improve the health and aging process.
