Rituximab's Role in Tough Kidney Cases

Kidneys are super important. They filter waste from the blood. Some adults have a tough time with this job. They have a problem called nephrotic syndrome. This makes the kidneys leak too much protein. Two main causes are minimal change disease and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis. These conditions can be a real pain. They often come back even after treatment. Or, they need lots of steroids to stay in check. This is where rituximab comes in. Rituximab is a medicine. It is used to treat certain blood cancers. Doctors need to keep digging. They need to find better ways to treat these kidney problems. Rituximab might be part of the answer. But, it's not the whole story. More research is needed.
