Riverdale Quack Doctor Charged After Anti‑Aging Injection Kills Woman

Luis Rojas Cabrera, a 55‑year‑old operator of an unlicensed spa in Riverdale, faces serious criminal charges. He ran a facility called the Bereshit Lifestyle Center in Upper Manhattan. There he gave a client, 27‑year‑old Elizabeth Baron, a popular NAD+ anti‑aging injection. Shortly after the treatment she suffered cardiac arrest and died in July. Police say the incident happened at the upscale enclave where the spa is located.

Cabrera has never held a medical license in the United States, though he is certified in the Dominican Republic. He was first taken into custody on July 20th and arraigned in Bronx Criminal Court. Initial accusations included reckless endangerment and practicing medicine without a license. The court released him without setting bail at that time. Records show he has two previous arrests, one involving an attempt to bring medical supplies into the country.
