Rome Game Lights Up TV Spot for New Social Media Firm
The organization is set to roll out its first 30‑second national television commercial during a high‑profile college basketball doubleheader in Rome. Villanova and Notre Dame will face off in a historic matchup that also celebrates Pope Leo XIV, the first American‑born pontiff and a Villanova alum. The event, dubbed the Eternal City Tip‑Off, blends sport, faith, and international exposure.
Interim CEO Kevin McGurn explained that the game offers a perfect platform to reach global viewers. He said the firm wants to share American perspectives with overseas audiences while bringing international voices back home. The ad will highlight the company’s faith‑based channels, such as the Catholic History Channel and Catholic Stream, which already attract many users on Truth Social and Truth+.
Truth+ currently hosts more than 50 channels covering conservative news, religious programming, movies, TV shows, and sports. McGurn noted that content ideas come from conversations among Truth Social users, shaping the TV lineup and on‑demand offerings. The firm is also actively recruiting creators and expanding distribution beyond the United States, aiming to grow its international footprint.
The timing aligns with growing interest in Villanova’s connection to Pope Leo XIV and a broader surge of young Catholics joining church groups in cities like New York. By leveraging the Rome game, the company hopes to deepen its presence in both domestic and overseas markets.
