Rural Colorado Clinics Get $170M Boost

Colorado just announced a huge grant package for rural health care. The state health department and the governor revealed almost one hundred seventy million dollars in new funding. The money comes from a federal program that supports rural hospitals and clinics.

The goal is to make care easier to get and to improve outcomes for people living far from big cities. Officials say the cash will help keep maternity services open and support the health workforce. They hope the investment will lower costs for patients.

More than one hundred ten groups applied asking for over two hundred fifty million dollars. After a review, ninety one applicants were chosen for about two hundred fifty projects across fifty two rural counties. The selection process was competitive.

Funds will go toward expanding telehealth, adding blood transfusion capacity, upgrading technology, and improving care for mothers, newborns, and children. These steps aim to modernize facilities and keep services running.
