Sabrina Carpenter, a popular singer, recently expressed her anger on social media. She was upset because the White House used her song "Juno" in a video about ICE deportations. She called the video "evil and disgusting" and asked the White House not to use her music for such purposes.
The video was posted on Monday. It showed ICE officers detaining people while Carpenter's song played in the background. The White House also quoted lyrics from the song on their social media account.
In response to Carpenter's criticism, the White House Deputy Press Secretary, Abigail Jackson, made a strong statement. She said they would not apologize for deporting "dangerous criminal illegal murderers, rapists, and pedophiles. " She also questioned the intelligence of anyone who would defend such individuals.
This is not the first time the White House has used an artist's song without permission. In October, Kenny Loggins objected to the use of his song "Danger Zone" in an AI-generated video. The video showed Trump dropping feces on No Kings protesters. Loggins asked for his music to be removed, but it remains in the video on Trump's Truth Social account.
