Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus: A Fresh Look at the Upcoming Smartphone
Samsung's Galaxy S26 Plus is making a comeback, abandoning earlier plans for a Galaxy S26 Edge due to poor sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge. This isn't just a name change; the design is different too.
Design & Dimensions
The latest CAD renders show a flat display with thin bezels and a centered camera hole, similar to the Galaxy S25+. The back features a vertical camera island with three protruding cameras and an LED flash nearby. The phone is expected to be 158.4 x 75.7 x 7.35mm, slightly thicker than the Galaxy S26 Edge would have been.

Naming Strategy & Competition
Samsung's naming strategy for the Galaxy S26 series has been confusing, with initial plans for a Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge scrapped in favor of the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus. The Galaxy S26 Plus is very similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy S25+, with the main difference being the camera setup on the back.
The Galaxy S26 Plus will face stiff competition, especially if Samsung keeps the price around $999. Phones like the iPhone 17 and Pixel 10 Pro offer strong alternatives. Samsung is also planning to announce the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Ultra, with the Galaxy S26 being a smaller variant of the Galaxy S26 Plus.
