Samsung's New 25W Wireless Charger: What You Need to Know

Samsung is gearing up to launch a new wireless charger that promises faster charging speeds. This charger, known as the Magnetic Wireless Charger with model number EP-P2900BBEGWW, is designed to support up to 25W of wireless charging power. It is expected to be a key feature for the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, particularly the Ultra model. The charger has a sleek design with a USB Type-C port on one end and a circular magnetic charging puck on the other. The cable is nylon braided, adding a touch of durability. Samsung recommends using a 45W USB Power Delivery charger for optimal performance.While the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to fully utilize the 25W charging capability, the standard Galaxy S26 and S26+ models might only support up to 20W. This means that not all devices in the series will benefit equally from the new charger. Older Galaxy phones, such as the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy Z Fold 7, which have Qi2 Ready certification, can also use this charger. However, they will be limited to a maximum of 15W of wireless charging. This shows that the new charger is not just for the latest models but also offers some benefits to older devices. The design of the charger is quite similar to other Qi2 wireless charging pucks available in the market, including those from Apple. This suggests that Samsung is following industry standards while also adding its own touch to the design.
