Santa Clara Puts Sports on Parade

Santa Clara held its 57th Parade of Champions on a warm Saturday. The sun was out. The town gathered to honor athletes. It also honored the community. The event included both a parade and a festival. It kept sports at the center of the day.

This year used a sports-focused theme. Three parade leaders took part. Leslie Osborne was a co-owner of Bay FC. Shea Salinas was a former San Jose Earthquakes player. Kevin Zacher was the head of the Santa Clara Swim Club. Each one added a different sports connection to the event.

The swim club was also marking its 75th anniversary. That milestone was part of the day. The parade brought together sports figures and local community members. The festival side added to the celebration.

The festival gave people a chance to cheer together. It highlighted athletes who represent the area. It also showed how sports can bring neighbors into one shared moment.
