Saudi Base Hit by Missile, 12 U. S. Injured
Saudi Arabia, Prince Sultan Air BaseSat Mar 28 2026
A missile strike on the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia left 12 Americans hurt, with two suffering serious injuries and the rest experiencing lighter wounds. The attack also set a KC‑135 refueling plane ablaze, according to a senior U. S. official who spoke to Fox News. Analysts say the strike used Iranian ballistic missiles and drones.
The incident comes as U. S. forces, under Operation Epic Fury, enter their fifth week of combat against Iran. The Pentagon is considering sending an additional 10, 000 troops to the region. U. S. Central Command reports that since the start of joint U. S. –Israel strikes on Iran, 303 Americans have been injured; most of these cases are minor, and 273 personnel have already returned to duty. However, 13 service members have lost their lives in support of the operation.
President Donald Trump told a crowd in Miami Beach that U. S. forces are dismantling Iran’s missile and drone production at an unprecedented pace, arguing that without these actions the Iranian regime could have acquired a nuclear weapon in two to four weeks. He added that U. S. troops would withdraw once the nuclear threat is neutralized.
The situation highlights the growing intensity of U. S. involvement in the Middle East and raises questions about how long the conflict will last and what diplomatic steps might follow.
