Savannah Bananas switch games due to weather changes
Yankee Stadium, New York City, USAFri Apr 24 2026
A popular baseball event featuring the Savannah Bananas is getting a quick date change because of rain in New York City. The game planned for Saturday night at Yankee Stadium has been moved up by one day, now set for Friday at 7:30 p. m. instead. The decision came after weather experts warned of storms rolling in right around the original game time. Anyone who bought tickets to Saturday’s matchup can keep using them since the venue has simply shifted the time slot.
Fans who show up early can enjoy extra activities before the game even begins. Starting at 3 p. m. , the Pre-Game Plaza in Macombs Dam Park will open with player meet-ups scheduled at the same moment. A fun 30-minute performance called Before the Peel Show will follow at 3:30 p. m. The main stadium gates swing open two hours later at 5 p. m. , giving spectators time to get settled before the show starts an hour after that at 7 p. m.
People who purchased tickets will automatically receive updates through the email address they used during checkout. This avoids the hassle of printing new tickets or dealing with refunds since the event is still going ahead in a slightly earlier time slot.
The Savannah Bananas have been growing fast in popularity since last year. ESPN recently revealed they will broadcast all 25 of the team’s games this season on their app and Disney+ for subscribers. Over 15 games will also air live on ESPN networks, which is a big jump compared to just 12 games covered last year. Their partnership with the network started back in 2022 with a behind-the-scenes series and a handful of live games.
