Scheduling Just Got a Little Easier with Gmail's New AI Trick

Tue Oct 14 2025

Google has introduced a handy new tool in Gmail. It's called Help me schedule. It uses smart AI to help you find the best times to meet with others. This feature looks at your Google Calendar and the details in your email. Then, it suggests times when you're free to meet.

How It Works

You're writing an email to set up a meeting. The Help me schedule option pops up. Click it, and you'll see times when you're available. You can add these times right into your email.

Customization

You can also tweak the suggested times. Maybe you want to meet for an hour instead of 30 minutes. No problem! Just edit the times to fit your needs.

Automatic Scheduling

When the person you're emailing picks a time, something cool happens. Google automatically adds the meeting to both of your calendars. No more back-and-forth emails trying to figure out when to meet!

Part of Google's Smarter Gmail

This new feature is part of Google's push to make Gmail smarter. It can already summarize emails and add events to your calendar. Now, it's helping you schedule meetings too.

Limitations

But there's a catch. Right now, Help me schedule only works for one-on-one meetings. It can't handle group meetings yet. Also, it's only available to certain users. If you're a Workspace customer or have a Google AI Pro or AI Ultra subscription, you're in luck. Everyone else will have to wait.
