School Closures and Virtual Learning Due to Weather

With forecasted inclement weather, multiple schools in the area are adjusting their schedules. Midlands Technical College will close early on Thursday and remain closed on Friday, while Morris College in Sumter is closing at 3 p. m. on Thursday with further guidance expected for Friday. Columbia College is also closing early on Thursday and will be closed on Friday. The University of South Carolina Columbia will switch to virtual classes starting Thursday evening and continue virtually on Friday. Similarly, the University of South Carolina Aiken will cancel in-person activities after 5 p. m. on Thursday and transition to virtual learning, with the campus remaining closed on Friday. Additionally, the Richland County Recreation Commission is closing all parks at 6 p. m. on Thursday, suspending programs, and delaying opening until 9 a. m. on Friday due to weather concerns.
