Science and Fun: Explore 4-H Learning Center's Fall Open House

USA, OronoFri Oct 10 2025
The Lafayette and Rawcliffe 4-H Science and Engineering Learning Center is throwing open its doors for a fun-filled fall open house. This event is a golden opportunity for young minds and their families to dive into the world of science and engineering. On Saturday, October 11th, from 10 a. m. to 1 p. m. , the center at 491 College Avenue in Orono will be buzzing with activity. What's on the agenda? A whole lot of hands-on fun! Participants can get up close and personal with a touch tank, create seaweed squishies, and even try their hand at tissue paper painting. There will also be demonstrations of 4-H toolkits, giving everyone a taste of the cool projects they can be a part of. It's not just about science, though. Attendees are encouraged to come in costume, adding a festive touch to the day. The best part? It's completely free! No registration is needed, so you can just show up and join in the fun. But if you have any questions or need special accommodations, you can reach out to Jessy Brainerd at 207-581-3877 or jessica. brainerd@maine. edu. This open house is more than just a day of activities. It's a chance to explore the 4-H programs offered by the University of Maine Cooperative Extension. Whether you're already part of a 4-H club or just curious about what they do, this event is a great way to learn more. So, mark your calendars and get ready for a day of science, fun, and maybe even some new friends!
