Shreveport Tragedy: Eight Children Lost in Domestic Violence Incident

"In the early hours of Sunday, a violent episode unfolded across multiple homes in Shreveport. The police received a call about gunfire just after 6 a. m. on West 79th Street. Responders found the scene spread over two houses and an additional residence on Harrison Street. A suspect, later identified as a lone gunman, seized a vehicle and fled toward the neighboring parish. Officers chased him in the car. When he opened fire, the officers returned shots and killed the attacker.The victims were children aged one to fourteen. Some of them were related to the shooter, indicating a domestic dispute at the core of this tragedy. Because the suspect was killed by law enforcement, state police will take over that part of the investigation.
