Silicon Valley: The New Cathedral

These days, people worship at temples made of silicon and glass, with holy texts stored on tiny, powerful devices. Greg Epstein, who works as a chaplain at Harvard and MIT, sees technology as our new religion. It has universal principles, rituals, and a sense of community, like any faith you could think of. But instead of prophets, we have app developers, and instead of going to church, we gather at tech conferences. Epstein points out that unlike other trends, you can't just opt out of technology.It's everywhere, and that's a problem, especially when it comes to smartphone addiction and mental health issues. He thinks that tech needs a reformation, a chance to reset and tackle these problems. He encourages everyone to step back and really question how tech influences their lives.
