Sipping in the Streets: Sacramento's New Way to Have Fun
Sacramento is shaking things up with a fresh idea to spice up its neighborhoods. The city council has approved two new spots where you can enjoy a drink outdoors, aiming to make the city more vibrant and inviting.
What Are Entertainment Zones?
Imagine strolling around with a drink in hand, enjoying the sights and sounds of the city. That's the goal here. Businesses with a liquor license can now sell drinks to go during special events, benefiting both locals and businesses.
New Zones Join the Party
The first three zones were set up near the downtown arena, in the Lavender Heights district, and at the convention center. Now, two more are joining:
- Ice Blocks area along R Street
- Handle District near 18th and L streets
These spots are already popular, and adding drinks is sure to boost the buzz.
Keeping Things Under Control
Security guards will be on duty, and special cups and wristbands will help monitor who's drinking. It's all about enjoying the experience without any hassle.
Bringing Life Back to Downtown
This move comes as the city tries to revitalize downtown. It's a smart way to attract people and create new opportunities for events. Who knows? Maybe more zones will pop up in other areas like Stockton Boulevard and Mack Road in the future.
