After a tense two-week strike, 200 ski patrollers at a big Utah resort are back on the job. They accepted a new contract that includes a $2-an-hour pay raise and better deals for senior patrollers. The Park City Ski Professional Ski Patrol Association called it a big victory. They say it shows what happens when workers stick together. The strike happened during the busy holiday season, with lots of fresh snow. Some skiers supported the patrollers by chanting "Pay your employees! " online. The resort's owner, Vail Resorts, apologized to guests for the long lift lines and closed trails. The patrollers wanted a pay increase from $21 to $23 an hour due to high inflation and living costs in the area. They also asked for better pay for the longest-serving patrollers. Vail Resorts said they had already given a 50% pay increase in 2022. Strikes like this aren't common, but this one happened after talks went on for a long time.
