SLV Volleyball Teams Gear Up for Regional Showdowns

USA, AlamosaWed Nov 05 2025

The Colorado High School Activities Association has set the stage for thrilling volleyball action, with seven teams from the San Luis Valley (SLV) ready to compete in the regional tournaments. This is a big deal because it means these teams have worked hard all season to earn their spots.

Class 3A Region 1 Tournament

Alamosa, with an impressive record of 22 wins and just 1 loss, is the top seed in the Class 3A Region 1 Tournament. They'll be playing at home, which is always an advantage. Their first match is against DSST: College View (12-11), followed by Salida (15-8). The Mean Moose are expected to wrap up the tournament, but anything can happen in sports.

Centauri, another SLV team, is the 10th seed in the Class 3A Region 10 Tournament. They'll also be hosting, taking on Brush and Coal Ridge. Centauri has a 15-8 record, and they'll be facing some tough competition. Their final match will be against Coal Ridge (17-6). It's going to be a tough tournament, but Centauri has what it takes to pull through.

Class 2A Region

Sanford is the sixth seed and will be hosting their tournament. They have an impressive 18-3 record and will be playing against Haxtun (8-15) and Highland (16-7). The Mustangs are expected to do well, but they'll need to bring their A-game.

Center (12-10), Del Norte (9-12), and Monte Vista (12-9) are all heading on the road for their regional tournaments.

  • Center will be playing in the Class 2A Region 1 Tournament at Simla, facing tough competition.
  • Monte Vista will be traveling to Denver Christian (19-4) for their tournament.
  • Del Norte will be traveling to Swink (19-4) for their tournament.

Class 1A Region

Sargent (21-2) will be hosting a single match against Lone Star (14-9). It's going to be an intense match, but Sargent is expected to come out on top.

The winners of each regional tournament will advance to the state tournaments at the Denver Coliseum on November 13-15. It's going to be an exciting time for SLV volleyball, and we can't wait to see how these teams perform.
