North AmericaThu Apr 24 2025
Ray-Ban and Meta have joined forces to create smart glasses. These aren't your average specs. They come packed with cool features that make life easier. One standout feature is live translation. This tool helps you chat with people who speak different languages. It's like having a personal translator right in your glasses. Live translation isn't new. But now, it's available everywhere Ray-Ban Meta glasses are sold. This means you can use it on trips abroad or when talking to locals who speak a different language. The AI-powered feature translates in real-time and speaks in your preferred language. You can also see the translation on your phone. It supports English, French, Italian, and Spanish. Plus, you can download language packs in advance. This way, you won't need Wi-Fi or mobile data to use it. Just say, "Hey Meta, start live translation, " and you're good to go. Another handy feature is Live AI. It lets you ask questions about your surroundings without repeating "Hey Meta" every time. You can ask about missing ingredients for a meal or the best wine to pair with it. This feature is now available in the US and Canada. It was previously only in beta testing. To start, just say, "Hey Meta, start live AI. " In the EU, Meta AI is finally rolling out to all supported countries. Starting next week, EU users will get a visual search feature. This feature answers questions about your surroundings. However, it can't have a free-flowing conversation like Live AI. The glasses also have Instagram integration. You can soon send and receive DMs, photos, audio calls, and video calls on your Ray-Bans. They already support calls and messages through WhatsApp, Messenger, and your phone's messaging app. To start, say, "Hey Meta, send a message to
