Smoky Surprise: Hotel Fire Doused in Black River Falls

Just after dinner time on a chilly evening in January 2025, the Black River Falls Fire Department received a call that would get them sprinting. Smoke was seen billowing from the 'Sure Stay Plus by Best Western' on 600 Oasis Road in Brockway. The alarm bell rang at 8:50 PM. Upon arrival, firefighters were faced with a blaze in the hotel's main laundry room. The building was thick with smoke. It was no easy task, but they immediately sprang into action. They managed to evacuate all the guests safely from their rooms.The firefighters worked tirelessly, and by 10:43 PM, the fire was extinguished. The primary damage was limited to the laundry room, with the rest of the hotel largely untouched. No injuries were reported among the guests or staff. As of now, the extent of the damage and the cause of the fire remain mysterious. Investigations are ongoing to unravel the puzzle.
