SNL Takes on Politics and New York's New Mayor
SNL didn't hold back on politics this week.
They kicked off with a spoof of a recent event where someone passed out in the Oval Office.
James Austin Johnson, playing Trump, joked about it, saying,
"Someone was dying in my office."
He also made fun of the idea of lowering drug prices, saying it was so shocking it almost killed someone.
The sketch didn't stop there.
Johnson's Trump talked about other big news, like the government shutdown and high grocery prices.
He even joked about the elections, saying the media got it wrong when they said Trump's policies were rejected.
He claimed they were actually Stephen Miller's policies and that he didn't even read them.
One of the big wins for Democrats was Zohran Mamdani becoming the new mayor of New York City.
SNL made sure to mention this too.
Nikki Glaser hosted the show, with Sombr as the musical guest.
This was her first time hosting SNL, and she did a great job.
She's the second host for November, following Miles Teller.
Next up is Glen Powell, with Bad Bunny, Amy Poehler, and Sabrina Carpenter already having hosted this season.
SNL is known for its political humor, and this episode was no different.
It's a way for people to laugh at the week's events, even the serious ones.
The show is a mix of comedy and commentary, making it a favorite for many viewers.
