Get ready for some snowy roads in the Okanagan! Environment Canada has warned that several highways could see 10-15 centimetres of snow this weekend. The Coquihalla Highway, Highway 3, the Okanagan Connector, and the Trans-Canada Highway are all in the snow's path. The snowfall is expected to start on Saturday, Nov. 16, and continue into Sunday morning.
A weather system from the Pacific is to blame for this snowy forecast. While the snow levels might rise overnight, they won't go over the pass summits. Drivers should be cautious, as visibility could be reduced due to the snow.
The winter weather has already made its presence known. A semi-truck crash on the Okanagan Connector on Friday night (Nov. 15) closed the highway for three hours. Some people on a local Facebook group even called the highway a "skating rink" due to the icy conditions.
Remember, mountain weather can change quickly, leading to dangerous driving situations. So, be safe out there!
