Snowy Surprise in Vermont This Weekend
Vermont, USASat May 30 2026
Vermont’s weather is acting a bit out of season, with unexpected snow showers showing up in the higher parts of the state while rain takes over most lowlands.
Two separate weather systems are heading north, each bringing a brief bout of precipitation. The first arrives today and continues into tomorrow morning; the second rolls in Sunday night and stays through Monday.
Today, the Northeast Kingdom can expect a little over an inch of rain, while the St. Lawrence Valley will see just a few drops.
High elevations—above 3, 000 feet—are primed for light snow; a few tenths of an inch could fall there, and up to two inches on the tallest peaks.
Lower mountains will only see showers of rain that should clear by Saturday afternoon, with temperatures hovering between 50 and 60 degrees.
Sunday will bring another round of rain that lingers into the night, so residents should stay prepared for wet conditions.
