Pennsylvania is bracing for a snowy Tuesday morning. The National Weather Service in State College has issued warnings. Several counties in central Pennsylvania are under a Winter Weather Advisory. These counties include Adams, Blair, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Mifflin, Montour, Northumberland, Perry, Snyder, and York. Portions of Centre, Clinton, and Union counties are also affected.
Snow is expected to start early in the morning and continue through Tuesday. The snow will arrive as early as 3 a. m. in Warren County. In central Pennsylvania, snow is expected between 5-6 a. m. The alerts warn of hazardous travel during the Tuesday morning commute. A plowable snowfall is expected.
Closer to the Mason-Dixon line, a mix of snow and ice is expected. There is a possibility of a “glaze of ice. ” Higher elevations, particularly east of US-15 and north of the I-81/I-78 corridor, could see more than 6 inches of snow. Weather. com predicts total accumulations of 3 to 5 inches in Harrisburg. AccuWeather is calling for 1 to 3 inches.
