Traditional in-person HIV testing faced challenges due to social distancing policies and the spread of misinformation. However, social media platforms stepped in to bridge this gap by offering virtual HIV testing services. This shift has opened up new avenues for voluntary counseling and testing (VCT), making it more accessible. Despite these innovative solutions, there is a notable absence of data on the effectiveness of recruitment for HIV testing through social media during the pandemic. This lack of information underscores the need for further research to understand how social media can best be utilized in public health initiatives.
