Recycling household waste is a growing challenge as cities get bigger and we generate more trash. Picking the right spot for a new recycling plant involves many factors, like sustainability. This study aims to create a new decision-making model to rate and choose the best locations. It's divided into three parts.
First, the study comes up with a new and improved way to compare fuzzy numbers, which are used to deal with uncertain information. An example shows that this new way works better than the old methods.
Second, it introduces a new way to measure distances between fuzzy sets, explaining how different they are. This new method has several advantages over the old ones.
Third, the study combines several approaches into one framework called "FF-MEREC-SWARA-MARCOS". This includes using expert opinions to find the importance of different factors, rating the options, and then picking the best ones based on a compromise. The new distance measure helps find out how much experts agree or disagree. The framework shows that it can successfully pick the best locations for recycling plants. The results are tested and checked for sensitivity.
This study provides a new way to handle uncertain information and make better decisions when choosing recycling plant locations.
