South Philly’s New Sports Hub: A Rooftop, Concerts, and a Fresh Take on Dining
Philadelphia, USAThu May 21 2026
The Stateside Live! complex is getting a major makeover that will turn it into a year‑long hotspot for food, drinks, and live entertainment. A $20 million upgrade has added two outdoor stages, a beer garden, and an upscale rooftop lounge that offers sweeping views of the Sports Complex parking lots. The renovation is part of a larger $2. 5 billion plan led by Comcast Spectacor to revamp the area into a mixed‑use destination, featuring a hotel, retail space, and eventually a new stadium for Philadelphia’s major sports teams.
In August 2025, the local spirits brand States Side secured naming rights to Xfinity Live! in a 15‑year deal. The space was rebranded with the company’s Surfside hard seltzer line, one of America’s fastest‑growing alcohol brands. The new name, Stateside Live! , signals a shift from being a backdrop for sports events to becoming a destination on its own.
The centerpiece of the revamped venue is AVA, a two‑story restaurant that seats 200 people. It offers an elevated menu of “stadium bites” alongside a rooftop bar that serves craft cocktails made with Stateside vodka. The menu features 12 shareable plates, ranging from lobster rolls on brioche to wagyu meatballs with ricotta. A signature drink is the $25 Dirty Luxe ‘Tini, which comes tableside and includes caviar‑laden olives. The goal is to make AVA a go‑to spot for happy hour, date nights, and casual dining, regardless of whether a game or concert is happening nearby.
The complex also hosts the Coors Light Stage, an outdoor venue that can hold 5, 000 people. Its first shows include pop‑punk bands and a DJ duo, with plans for future concerts featuring local and national acts. The stage will also broadcast games from the Eagles, Sixers, Flyers, and Phillies on large screens. A smaller stage, the PBR Backyard, will feature cover bands and acoustic sets from country artists.
Additional amenities include a Blue Moon‑branded beer garden and the Stateside Crush Bar, which offers fruit‑based drinks made with vodka. Together, these additions aim to create a vibrant, all‑season experience that draws visitors to South Philly even when sports are off the calendar.
