Southampton's Manager Hunt: A Global Search

Southampton is on the lookout for a new manager, and they're not just looking locally. Simon Rusk, the under-21s manager, will temporarily step in for their important Carabao Cup game against Liverpool. The club is interested in a foreign coach, but they haven't revealed his name yet. Rusk might also lead the team in their next game, which could mean a longer wait for a permanent boss. Martin left the team at the bottom of the league table after a tough season. One name that's been floating around is Danny Rohl, who used to work at Southampton as an assistant. He's now coaching Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship. However, getting him might be tough, as it could require a lot of money to convince Wednesday to let him go mid-season. Another option is Kasper Hjulmand, the former Denmark coach. He's available after leaving his post after Euro 2024.
