Spas, Safety and Surprises: A Shock at a Medford Day Spa

Medford, MA, USAWed Apr 15 2026
A 55‑year‑old worker at a day spa in Medford is facing two criminal sexual contact charges after incidents that occurred on the same premises. The first claim came in late February when a customer said the employee touched her without consent at 7:24 p. m. The second complaint, filed two days later, involved a different victim and the same staff member named Chan H. Chung. During police work they discovered that some employees were living inside the building on Stokes Road, a fact that raised red flags about the workplace environment. Fire inspectors later found that the spa did not meet safety codes and labeled the structure a hazard, adding another layer of concern for patrons.
Chung is set to go before the court on April 27, where he will need to answer the accusations. His lawyer, Francis J. Masciocchi, was not available for comment when contacted by phone or email. The case highlights the importance of proper workplace safety and respectful boundaries, especially in spaces meant for relaxation. It also serves as a reminder that businesses must keep their facilities up to code and monitor employee conduct closely.
