Speeding Up Circuit Design with Murata and Cadence's Team-Up

Japan, KyotoTue Oct 21 2025

Murata and Cadence have joined forces to simplify the lives of engineers. By integrating Murata's inductor and capacitor products directly into Cadence's premier design software, engineers can now seamlessly select and test these components without any hassle. This collaboration aims to accelerate circuit design, particularly for power supplies, high-frequency circuits, and noise control.

A Leap Forward in Efficiency

Previously, engineers had to manually download models from Murata's website or obtain them from sales representatives, a time-consuming process. With this new integration, all necessary models are readily available within the software. This enhancement allows engineers to evaluate signal quality, power supply stability, and noise levels with greater accuracy.

Comprehensive Model Integration

Murata has provided both static and dynamic models for OrCAD X Capture and Allegro X System Capture, catering to general circuit design needs. The dynamic models are particularly valuable as they simulate real-world conditions, including DC and frequency variations. Engineers have access to an extensive selection of approximately 1,600 power inductors and 5,000 RF inductors.

For engineers working on RF and microwave circuits, the AWR Design Environment offers a library of Murata's static models, featuring around 5,000 RF inductors and 24,000 multilayer ceramic capacitors. Murata views this collaboration as a significant advancement and plans to expand these libraries further. Future updates will be automated through an API, ensuring engineers always have the latest models.

Additional Resources

Murata's product data can also be downloaded from their website for use with OrCAD X Capture and AWR Design Environment. Additionally, data is available for the PSpice circuit simulator, aligning with Murata's mission to enhance the efficiency and precision of electronic design.
