The Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame has announced its impressive 2025 class, which features a diverse range of sports talents that have made their mark on the state. Andrew Whitworth, the dominant LSU tackle, is one of the notable inductees. He went on to shine in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams, ultimately becoming a Super Bowl champion. Before achieving that level of success, Whitworth was a champion at the high school level, winning three state titles and two national championships at West Monroe High School. Whitworth is not the only impressive athlete to be recognized by the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame. The class also includes April Burkholder, a Louisiana State University gymnastics champion with a string of NCAA titles to her name. Dale Weiner, known for his exceptional coaching skills, is also an inductee, having guided his teams to numerous victories while coaching at Catholic High School. Rounding out the group is George "Bobby" Soileau, a multi-talented athlete who excelled in both boxing and football. As a coach at his alma mater, Sacred Heart High School in Ville Platte, Soileau led his team to a state championship.
