Next month, Eurosport will say goodbye to UK screens. Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is shaking up their sports lineup, moving Eurosport's content to the TNT channels. This means live sports and other programming will now be found on TNT, which is run jointly by WBD and UK telecom giant BT. Cycling, tennis, and winter sports fans will feel the pinch, as TNT Sports is a premium service costing £30. 99 ($38. 54) per month. This change was planned since WBD and BT joined forces. Eurosport has been a UK staple for 35 years, but now it's time for a new era under the TNT brand. The switch happens at the end of February.
Fans can still watch on the Discovery+ streaming service, but the change reflects a broader trend. WBD wants to modernize and connect better with fans. It's all about offering a single destination for sports lovers. TNT Sports already has top-tier soccer and sports rights, including the English Premier League and UEFA Champions League. The combined portfolio will cover cycling, tennis, snooker, rugby, boxing, and mixed martial arts, among others.
WBD will keep handling production, with no changes to staff. The on-air team will promote different sports, creating a lively, connected sports experience. Free TV coverage and highlights will move to WBD's Quest channel, offering more sports programming and documentaries.
