Sports Star's Home Targeted: Luka Doncic's Jewelry Taken
Dallas, TX, USA,Sun Dec 29 2024
Coming home to find your jewelry drawer empty! That's what Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic experienced recently. On Friday night, while he was away, his home in Dallas was broken into, and about $30, 000 worth of jewelry was taken. The thief reportedly entered through a broken master bathroom window between 5 and 9 PM. Fortunately, neither Luka nor his family were home at the time.
Luka's business manager, Lara Beth Seager, confirmed that he had filed a police report. The Dallas Police Department's crime scene team was also alerted. Private security was already monitoring the residence, but it's still unclear if one person or a group is behind the theft.
This incident isn't the first targeting NBA players—it seems like sophisticated crime rings are on the prowl. Back in November, the NBA warned players about these burglaries, mentioning that these criminals are after cash and resellable items like jewelry and watches.
At the time of the burglary, Luka was not with the Mavericks. He's been sidelined due to a strained left calf, an injury he got during a game on Christmas Day. Doctors expect him to be out for at least a month.
