Arkansas, USASun Jun 14 2026
The Bentonville Film Festival is teaming up with Opera in the Ozarks to show a documentary that follows four rising opera singers as they tackle modern challenges. The film, “Aria — Opera on the Edge, ” will be screened at 3 p. m. Thursday in Eureka Springs, with live performances from tenor Ben Gulley and soprano Cecilia Violetta López. A talk‑back with director Karen Day follows the showing, and festival pass holders can join for free; general tickets cost $25. In Hot Springs, a local group called The Muses is presenting a “Broadway Cabaret” night that turns classic novels into musical numbers. Shows are spread across the week: a free student performance on Monday, ticketed events in both Hot Springs Village and Texarkana, and a Saturday matinee. Interested people can call 501‑609‑9811 or visit themusesproject. org to sign up.
The Walton Arts Center is opening an exhibit on the late rock drummer Levon Helm. The show, titled “This Wheel’s Still on Fire: The Legacy of Levon Helm, ” features rare photos, instruments from The Band, and interviews with friends like Bruce Springsteen. Visitors can even try their hand at drumming during the event, which runs until September 6. The MacArthur Museum in Little Rock is adding a film night to its lineup. “The Forgotten War, ” a documentary that looks at three intense years of the Korean conflict through soldiers’ eyes, will play at 6:30 p. m. Tuesday. The museum offers free admission and refreshments for attendees. Finally, families can celebrate National Children’s Day with a storytelling session in Little Rock. Six Arkansas authors will discuss the power of books for kids, covering themes such as representation and personal growth. The event is free, with authors available to chat and sign copies of their works.
