Stamford’s Budget Talk: What the City Wants to Spend

The city of Stamford will discuss its next year’s budget on March 5th. A joint session brings together the Board of Finance and the Fiscal Committee. The meeting will happen online through Microsoft Teams at 6 p. m. , so people can join from anywhere. Mayor Caroline Simmons will explain the money plan. She will cover how much money is needed for roads, buildings, and long‑term projects in 2026–27. Her talk will also give an overview of the capital budget, which shows where funds go for big infrastructure. After the mayor’s presentation, other departments will speak.The Economic Development Director, Leah Kagan, will talk about the Administration’s budget needs. Then Bridget Fox, the mayor’s chief of staff, will share details from the Mayor’s Office. This meeting is part of Stamford’s yearly budget review.
