Stamos Stands By Love as He Battles Health Hurdles on Tour

Mike Love kept stepping onto the stage even though doctors warned him to rest. His voice sounded thin in Cincinnati, and fans noticed he looked frail. John Stamos saw the moment and decided to speak up. He posted a heartfelt note on social media, calling Love’s presence a miracle. The post also appeared on Love’s Instagram as a joint share.

Stamos described Love as a fighter. He said doctors, family, and friends urged Love to focus on his health. Yet Love insisted he needed his band and the crowd around him. He said the music and the audience lift him up. Stamos added that Love’s determination inspires him deeply.

After more than forty years together, Stamos feels the weight of seeing a legend face such vulnerability. He admitted Love may not be the same man fans once knew. Still, he said Love remains the person they love. Stamos promised to be fully present at the next show in Nashville. He hopes the stage will make age and illness fade for a night.

The band took a three‑month break, and about thirty tour dates were canceled. Some shows in Bloomington and Calgary were also called off without explanation. Love has been dealing with bronchitis, COVID, and emotional strain. He is now the sole original member after Brian Wilson’s death and Bruce Johnston’s departure. The group continues to tour as it marks sixty years since “Pet Sounds.”
