STARLUX Boosts Premium Seats on New A350-1000s

STARLUX is adding many premium seats to its new A350-1000 jets. Each jet has four first‑class seats. It also has forty business seats. There are thirty‑six premium economy seats. And two hundred seventy economy seats. About twenty‑three percent of all seats are premium. The airline kept only a few first‑class suites. They want them as a special brand mark. They do not need many first‑class seats. The high share of premium seats shows its luxury aim. It wants to stand out among Taiwanese carriers.

The first A350-1000 arrived in January 2026. Six more will be delivered by the end of that year. Now STARLUX has four of this type in service. It also flies ten older A350-900s. STARLUX plans to own seventy‑six planes by 2033. That would make it similar in size to EVA Air and China Airlines. Its current fleet averages just over three years old. This makes it one of the youngest in the region. The airline already operates thirteen A321neos. It also has nine A330-900neos on order. Its fleet is known for being all‑Airbus.

STARLUX is using these jets for new long‑haul routes. A flight to Prague started a week ago. This puts it in direct competition with EVA Air and China Airlines on Europe routes. The airline also wants to fly to the US East Coast. There it will compete mainly with EVA Air. All these moves are part of a plan to grow its network across North America, Europe and selected Asia‑Pacific spots. STARLUX also serves some destinations in the Asia‑Pacific region. It plans to add more Asian stops in the future.

The very first commercial flight with the new A350-1000 went from Taipei to Tokyo Narita on February tenth. To mark the event, the airline held a small gathering in the Terminal 2 lounge. Three lucky travelers each received thirty large cups of specialty coffee. Airbus says the A350-1000 burns about twenty‑five percent less fuel than the planes it replaces. STARLUX has also ordered ten A350‑F freighters based on the same jet. The order of freighters shows its interest in cargo business. The fuel saving helps lower operating costs.
