Very early Friday morning, a curious event unfolded in Rochester, MN. A van from a local shuttle company disappeared. The van was taken from a business on Civic Center Dr. Northwest while it was left running outside. Customers were getting ready to leave. Police were called around 2:45 AM. Later, around 3 AM, the van was spotted on Highway 52, heading north near Zumbrota. When police tried to stop it, the driver sped up. A pursuit began. Not far from there, in the Cannon Falls area, police used stop sticks to make the van stop. The van came to a halt near the border of Goodhue and Dakota counties. The suspect took off on foot, running into a nearby field. As of Friday morning, the suspect was still missing. Police don't think there's any immediate danger to locals. They haven't released a description of the suspect yet. This isn't the first time a vehicle has been stolen with the keys in the ignition. It’s important to always turn off your vehicle and take the keys with you.
