Storm Alert! Get Ready for Heavy Rain

Sat Feb 01 2025
Things were just starting to get wet in the Bay Area as early as Friday morning, and folks were getting ready for a weekend of constant rain. The whole Bay Area was under a flood watch, and things were moving fast. North Bay counties, like Sonoma and Napa, were expected to feel the brunt of that first wave of storms which rolled in first and would be the worst. The weather experts had a heads-up for everyone. They said the second storm would be a real doozy. It would push all that rain more to the South, making the whole Bay Area need to stay aware. The weather service had put out a flood alert for a bunch of counties. That list included Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Marin, San Francisco, Napa, and Sonoma counties. This warning would be in effect from Friday noon until late. Sunday night. Areas like the North Bay, and parts of the East, South, and Santa Cruz Mountains could see some serious flooding. They were expected to get between 1 to 5 inches of rain by Sunday afternoon. The rest of the region would get a little less, but still get soaked. If you are in the affected areas, stay alert and keep an eye on updates. You should also be ready to check forecasts for any flood alerts. The weather service shared that the rain would continue throughout the weekend. The rain would fall throughout the day Friday and Saturday. Sunday was expected to have a brief pause, but then the rain would pick up again. The storm was far from over, so everyone needs to stay on their toes and be ready to act if needed.
