Storm Surge: Midwest Faces New Tornado Threat

A fresh wave of severe weather is set to hit the Midwest, with a high chance of powerful tornadoes that could reach EF‑3 strength or beyond. By Tuesday, the system will shift eastward, lowering the risk to Level 2 but still keeping many people in danger. The recent tornado that struck Enid, Oklahoma, was the most powerful U. S. event since June 2025, with winds around 170‑175 mph. It caused significant damage but fortunately no fatalities were reported. In North Texas, an EF‑2 tornado killed two people and displaced dozens of residents, adding to the toll of this multi‑day outbreak. Overall, the region must prepare for a potentially chaotic weather day that could bring both powerful tornadoes and widespread wind damage.
