Storm Warning Hits Southeast Oklahoma Early Morning
Southeastern Oklahoma, USATue Jun 02 2026
The National Weather Service has issued a strong thunderstorm warning for several counties in southeastern Oklahoma. The storms are moving quickly toward the southeast at about 35 miles per hour and will linger until early Tuesday morning.
The areas under alert include Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Sand Springs, Bristow, Pawhuska, Pawnee, Owasso, Bixby, Sapulpa, Jenks, Glenpool, Skiatook, Collinsville, Hominy, Cleveland, Mannford, Drumright, Kiefer, Barnsdall and Sperry. A stretch of Interstate 44 between mile markers 178 and 231 is also affected.
Expect wind gusts ranging from 40 to 50 miles per hour, which can knock down small tree branches and toss unsecured items. The rapid movement of the storms means conditions could change quickly, so staying indoors when outside is safest.
If you’re outdoors, find a sturdy building to shelter in and secure any loose objects nearby. Keep an eye on updates from weather. gov or local news sites to stay informed about the storms’ progress.
The alert was generated using data from the National Weather Service and assisted by artificial intelligence.
