Storms Hit North Jersey, Wind Threat Looms
North Jersey, New USAWed Apr 15 2026
The National Weather Service warns that isolated thunderstorms could appear across North Jersey, especially in Sussex, Warren, Morris and Passaic counties. The most intense weather is likely to focus on this northern region, but the danger can stretch along I‑95. Areas south of New York City—including Mercer, Camden and Monmouth counties—might also feel the impact.
A sharp peak of storm activity is expected between 2 p. m. and 9 p. m. on Tuesday, April 14. After that, light showers may linger into the evening, though they will bring less than an inch of rain in total.
Wind is the biggest concern. Strong gusts could reach up to 60 mph, posing risks for trees, power lines and outdoor structures. Residents should secure loose items and stay indoors if wind warnings are issued.
The forecast suggests that while rainfall will be light, the combination of thunder, lightning and high winds could still disrupt daily life. It is wise to monitor updates from local authorities and prepare for sudden weather changes.
