USA, Eau ClaireSat Jun 28 2025
The National Weather Service in La Crosse confirmed that seven tornadoes touched down in their area on Wednesday. Most of these, six to be exact, happened in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Specifically, Houston County saw three tornadoes, La Crosse County had two, and Winona County experienced one. The tornadoes were rated EF-1 and EF-0, with wind speeds reaching up to 100 mph and 80 mph respectively. More details are expected to come out in the coming days.
Today, the weather will mostly be dry, but there might be a few scattered showers. The weekend is looking hot and humid, so if you're planning to attend any outdoor events, don't forget sunscreen and water. The real concern is for tomorrow evening, as a line of showers and thunderstorms is expected to move in from Minnesota. These storms could bring large hail and damaging winds. The storms tomorrow will also set the stage for any severe weather on Sunday.
