In a small town like Palmer Lake, Colorado, politics can be intense. Recently, three officials stepped down from their roles. One of them, Michael Boyett, a former trustee, said his heart doctor told him to quit politics. Boyett had a heart procedure in November. He believes the stress from his job as a trustee contributed to his health issues. So, he decided to follow his doctor's advice and resign.
But Boyett wasn't the only one. On December 11th, another trustee, Tim Caves, and the town's attorney, Scott Krob, also resigned. Caves said he wanted to serve where his knowledge and experience were valued. He felt that the current political climate was too toxic for him to continue. Krob, on the other hand, simply said he had some regret but felt it was time to go.
This isn't the first time Palmer Lake has seen officials resign. Earlier in the year, Mayor Glant Havenar and Trustee Amy Huston also stepped down. It seems like the town has been going through a lot of changes lately.
Now, the board has to figure out how to fill these empty positions. It's not an easy task, especially when the town is already dealing with so much controversy. But for now, the focus is on moving forward and finding the right people to lead Palmer Lake.
